This work is not a portrait of a particular person, but a representation of someone who left a profound impression on me. He embodied a kind of freedom and flamboyance that I had rarely encountered, and through him I caught a glimpse of a version of myself I had spent years trying not to see.
The figure emerges through glitter, feathers and vibrant colour, yet his expression remains strikingly serious. That contrast reflects the complexity behind the fascination—the joy and freedom on the surface, with something much deeper underneath.
What began as intense infatuation ultimately became painful, but I still wanted to preserve what was beautiful about it. In many ways, he became one of my greatest teachers without ever knowing he was teaching me.
